The opportunity

Shieldpay is looking for an analytical and problem-solving individual with a continuous improvement mindset and excellent attention to detail to fulfill this role. Safeguarding controls are a critical element within the role, so some familiarity with this or working within a regulated process environment would be ideal. The role will report to the Transaction Operations Lead, other key relationships include Customer Operations, Compliance, Financial Crime Operations teams, and sales.

What you’ll be doing

• Working as part of a team who manages the operational process from transaction execution, through settlement and reconciliation.
• Understand the needs and requirements of our banking partners to successfully execute every payment
• Successfully complete all authorised payments and manage any exceptions
• Communicate the requirements for successful payments across the relevant teams in the business
  
• Fully reconcile the operations platform against our external bank partner accounts, identify all discrepancies and investigate those through to closure
• Run Financial Reports from underlying transaction data
• Ensure compliance of the safeguarding policy for client money protections at all times in line with our regulatory responsibilities
• Ensure policy and process documentation is in place and up to date including escalation processes
• Transform the process where there’s a reliance on excel spreadsheets, ensuring robustness, control and as much of a ‘no touch process’ as possible.
  
• Develop strong relationships with the rest of operations, as well as technology, compliance and legal colleagues. Plus with external vendors and technology providers who can help to scale and automate processes and provide effective tools.
